Do you have a moment for adventure?
Updates and a sneak peek at the new Adventures Unlimited comic, "A Story We Tell Ourselves."
Hello Adventurers,
It's been a bit. Hope you’re doing well. Thanks again for all the encouragement with "Eternal Gaze" last year. It was a fun story to write and see realized through Norma Noxe's incredible artwork.
I hope you’ve had a nice break from the madness because that’s about to end. I’ve been busy creating a new terrifying comic for you.
It's called "A Story We Tell Ourselves." It's the tale of a woman who, as the result of an accident, is stripped of her memories, leaving her adrift in a sea of forgetfulness. To create new memories, she must vigilantly document every detail and live an existence governed by unwavering repetition. But as she endeavors to rebuild her life, a haunting revelation emerges – she's been concealing secrets from herself.
I hired the brilliant Anna Wiescyzck to illustrate this dark tale; here are some of her work-in-progress images.
Pretty cool, huh? These images got me so excited to see this story come to life. There's something magical about sending thousands of words to someone and having them return with pictures that once only existed in your mind.
I hope this taste intrigues you. There's so much more to come.
Creating comics with a team of two is slow going. In the meantime, I’d like to use this Substack a little more regularly while “Story” comes together. I’ve planned out some essays on the films and comics that inspired me in writing this specific tale.
I’ve also recently returned to reading monthly comics, so I might post the occasional review of the stuff going on over there as well.
All of that soon. Thanks for sticking around so far.
Those works in progress look amazing and I love the story concept! Can’t wait!
